For Bridget it all started on the first day of New Year, when her aunt Una introduced her to the not so lovely Mark Darcy. This is also one of the things people did (especially parents) and they still do when someone is single, they arranged blind dates and introduced singles to each other Her first impression of him was that he was very rude, impolite and disgusting mamma's boy because of the sweater he wore. On the other side, he too was not impressed by Bridget and he also mocked the way she dressed and the way she behaved. At the time she had a crush on her boss, Daniel Clever, with whom she developed an intimate relationship. It all ended after she found out that he cheated on her, but even before this she was frustrated with him and confused with the way he behaved. Daniel was her chance for love, a chance which she lost and which made her feel depressed. After this she got back to drinking and smoking and listening to heartbreaking songs. She got disappointed in men and love and she has decided that men are not what she wants and that her career will be her first priority. This relationship which she chooses was also one of those things which were taboo in the society, the relationship between a woman and a career. Those women who were running and chasing a career were thought to be bad mothers, bad bosses and less productive.
