             Cuba and Fidel Castro.
             The Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro established the first communist nation in the Western Hemisphere in 1959. Since Cuba was aided by the Soviet Union, Fidel Castro, during his ruling of almost fifty years, formed a quite quarrelsome relationship against United States, most notable incidents being the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Since the proximity of Cuba threatened Americans' sense of security, United States made an effort to accelerate the space race and arm race. Even now, the two nations have extremely minimal diplomatic relations. Also, United States has enforced a trade embargo with Cuba since 1960, when Castro shunned all the American owned businesses from Cuba.
