Stress - Symptoms and Coping

On top of that I have to provide all my own books for the classes which can sometimes be really expensive. Also I am a student athlete meaning I have to fit football and practice into my busy schedule.
With having so much to do with school, work, and football it takes a large toll on my mind and body. From being stressed it effects the way I perform in school. It makes it hard for me to study because I feel frustrated easier, which leads to me giving up on studying and doing homework. Also it makes it hard for me to remember a lot of the material I have studied going into tests. The levels of stress I face also affect my attitude/mood at work and football. I feel that I have less energy and motivation to perform the tasks I am asked to do.
There are things that help me cope with all the stressful effects that come with being student, athlete and worker. One thing I try to do a lot of is go to the gym. Going to the gym gives me the chance to relieve stress by working out and playing basketball. Basketball is one of the main ways that help relieve stress for me because it completely takes my mind off of all the things I have to do in everyday life. Also spending quality time with my siblings helps me cope with stress because part of the reasons I do the things I do is to help get my family and I out of our current living situation. .
As part of my research to understand stress, I interviewed Rebecca Pauli to get an idea of stress from another person's perspective. Rebecca works a full time job, and also must come home to cook and clean after 8 children and a disabled mother. I have asked her a series of question based on stress. Rebecca believes stress is an overwhelming feeling of having more responsibilities that one can handle in a point in time. Many of these responsibilities are conflicting in priority and importance. She feels that too much stress is unhealthy and can cause long-term and short-term effects on the body.
