The majority of people were black men and woman, but there were two pictures of white men and woman.
Analysis of Pictures.
It can be shown through the pictures found on google there is a great inequality that black people are associated with in society. There are stereotypes placed on every ethnic group, but I feel that African American people have been criticized out the most. The stereotypes that are predominantly negative have put a negative connotation and mindset in people minds about African Americans, effecting them through social interactions. Social stereotypes that are in our society are established through dialect, attitudes, appearance, actions, and similarities that cause generalizations. "Before the civil rights movement, African Americans were virtually invisible and the roles that were available depicted them as lazy and unintelligent, images intended to entertain a white audience. Most characters held low-status positions and lived in the ghetto or slums." (Bing, 72). When black people are thought of in media majority of the time it is never an important role. From commercials to movies, there importance is quite little, if it is just a small role or and appearance. Media plays a big role on how the public thinks, especially in the era we live in. For example, one of the pictures is meme of a young black male and is captioned "You Mad". The phrase "you mad" originated from this video clip; rapper Cam'ron accused Bill O'Reilly of being mad when he began interrupting then Rocafella CEO Damon Dash. Just because he was African American and he said that phrase it is now and internet craze, and people all over assume it is something 'black people' say. How about we switch the young man's race to Asian, the meme wouldn't be so funny. I feel in this society, if certain people act a certain way, they find this commonality about that specific group stereotypes and it is just assumed and expected.
