Types of Coffee Drinks

The loud beeping of the alarm rudely interrupts a fitful night of sleep. The thought of reaching an arm out from under the warm covers to turn the alarm off, seems like a terrible idea. However, the enticing smell of freshly brewed hazelnut coffee wafting through the air does just the trick of getting me out of my cozy bed, and on to the start of a new day. For as long as I can remember, I have been starting my days off with a cup of Joe. From taking small sips out of my dad's morning coffee, to getting extra shots of espresso for an extra boost of energy in my own cup. After years of drinking various kinds of coffee, I've come to learn that different types of javas have different effects on me. Coffee can be roasted in 50 different ways, not including the fancy flavors you can get at an overpriced coffee shop. However, I am going to focus on three kinds of java that I particularly like; espresso, cappuccino, and cafe latte.
Espresso is generally thicker and stronger than coffee brewed by other methods. It has a higher concentration due to the fact that it's made by forcing boiling hot water through the grounds of tightly packed coffee beans. As a result, the flavor in a typical cup of espresso is very concentrated. It has a foamy and creamy consistency. I remember when I had my first taste of the dark coffee from my dad's usual morning cup. It had a rich, bitter flavor, with an after taste that lingered in the back of my mouth for a couple of hours. What was worse than the aftertaste was the extra hours that kept me up later that day. I thought I would never sleep again. However, I've learned to appreciate, if not love a periodic cup of espresso. It has become very handy for those late nights or restless mornings, and provides me that extra boost that I need.
My second favorite type of java is the mildly strong and semi-sweet cappuccino. A cup of cappuccino is a combination of equal parts espresso and steamed milk, topped with milk froth.
