Again, I wanted to bite all of them, but then my mother's face came to my mind and I left them.
That night I cried a lot and perhaps God was also sad, because it rained very heavily and no one knew I was crying. I was sitting in a half broken shelter (bus stand). I was very tired and also weak because I had not eaten anything in grief so I thought of taking a nap. Just then I felt someone caressing me on my back. I turned my head and saw a man who must've be in his sixties. I felt that God has sent my mother back to me so I could not resist and got up and started waving my tail very fast and started crying and licking his hands. That man understood something was wrong with me and he comforted me for some time. After a while when the rain stopped he called for an auto rickshaw and took me with him. At his home he properly wiped my body and then gave me some milk in a bowl which was meant for a dog, so I understood that earlier he had a dog who maybe ran away or died like my mom. I drank all the milk and then stayed with him like a loyal slave. He was in his bedroom all alone. He was looking at a photo in his room which had two ladies in it, one was middle aged, maybe 48-50's, and the other was young, must've been in her twenties, but when I looked at that man's face, I realized he was weeping. Then I understood the people in the picture were no more, needless to say one lady was his wife and the other his daughter. I so wanted to ask him how they died, but I was a dog and wasn't capable of speaking, so even I started crying, which caught his attention and he managed himself and came to me.
He started talking to me and said "I know you too lost someone lately. It was visible in your eyes and so I decided to bring you home because I am also in the same condition as you. My dear, loyal pet Johnny died due to an illness because I was not here to look after him. I had to go for the last rituals of my family who died in a car accident.
