Paying Students for Good Grades

The average grade level in the United States of America isn't quite as good in some other countries such as Japan and other countries that are becoming more advanced. There may be many reasons behind this, but, one of them might just help the U.S. out a bit. Most students just aren't engaged in school and think it is just a total waste of time. There may be many solutions for this, but one might just be the correct answer for this dilemma: paying kids to get good grades. This solution might just sound crazy, but it might make kids want to learn, and may make them more engaged and will make them get better grades.
For one, cash incentives may make students want to work harder and want to learn. Two, it will be "cash incentives help low-income students stay in school and get better grades. " A research group called the MDRC did a little evaluating and the results stated that cash incentives offered "real hope " to those families who have lower incomes and have a hard time providing for their families. There is a school in Macon, Ga, who offers a flat-screen television in a drawing aimed for those students who make the honor roll. This may seem out of control, but this will make the students word to be on the honor roll and get good grades and then their future will be more promising.
Other public high schools in Chicago have a great program for those students who do well in school. Once every five-week grading period, the school checks each freshman and sophomore's grades in English, math, science, social studies, and physical education. For every A the student has earned, he/she earns with it $50, for every B is another $35, and for every C is $20. But the program has not finished yet, at the end of the 5-week period, the student gets half of the money, and the rest is saved for once they graduate, just to make sure they don't drop out. This program is very awesome because it ensures that they stay in high school as well as work hard to earn good grades.
