Trees are different than grass and shrubs. Trees stand anywhere between 70-80 feet high. It is more difficult to catch trees on fire, but when they do catch they can burn for a long time. They have lots of fuel inside them that will keep the fire burning hot. Since it is putting out a lot of heat it will increase the chance of it catching other things around it catch faster. .
Structures are similar to trees. The big difference is that most structures involved with wildfires are two to three story buildings. Once a structure catches fire it will burn for a long time. Not only is the outside made of wood most the time, but also inside there are a lot of things the fire can burn. It doesn't catch as fast as grass and shrubs, but it doesn't take as long as trees. With structures there is a hallow inside so there is room for air movement feeding the fire even more. .
