Process of Project Implementation

The planning phase will clearly define the objectives of the implementation and what is clearly expected from every phase of the implementation. Budgets and time schedules will be clearly defined and a collaborative process will be utilized for all major decisions and milestones. The planning phase is the place and time for each person to express their concerns so that each objection or foreseen problem can be discussed and resolved before implementation. The realistic expectation is that major obstacles are identified and discussed recognizing that every obstacle cannot be fully projected. Unforeseen obstacles will be dealt with along the process with a defined problem resolution process established as well as pre-defined review meetings and program updates.
             Analysis Phase.
             The transition to a new software program is a significant change within an organization, existing processes and procedures will most likely be changed requiring individuals to be faced with potential frustration causing the adopting of a negative attitude toward the implementation. To avoid this a strong analysis of current operations methods must be undertaken allowing for the proper transition and training to the new system. The analysis stage consist of gathering information, defining system requirements, defining user needs, testing processes in a "sandbox" environment, and last but most important defining an adequate training program for users. The analysis phase will rely heavily on a test environment where process and procedures can be properly validated for outcome analysis. .
             Design Phase .
             The design of the software integration is critical to a successful implementation; the process of integration should follow a pre-arranged method based on the software specifications along with the individual attributes of the organization. Since SAP Business One is a "shelf" product and not an open ended architecture the integration will follow very closely to the recommend plan provided by the SAP.
