The successful implementation of projects requires careful preparation and planning to achieve the intended results. The organization that I am currently employed at has endeavored to implement new manufacturing software that provides the capability of managing multiple aspects of the organization on an integrated basis. This paper will provide the project management plan for the software integration and will incorporate the multiple step process of a successful project management action plan for each phase of the project management life-cycle.
SAP Business One is a full function solution offering CRM, logistics, job costing, accounting, material & capacity planning, and many more detailed functions and processes that allow an organization to be completely integrated for all facets of operation. The successful implementation of SAP Business One will require a multiple step program management plan that will entail every aspect of the integration process. Project management concepts are critical to ensure the systematic flow of the project on both an individual basis as well as the project as a whole. By laying out all the phases of the project the likelihood of success significantly increases which results in team members operating in a more efficient and organized manner. This success of this project will require the time frames to be met, the costs to be either at budget or under budget and most importantly that the expected performance enhancements will be obtained. Following is a brief summary of the multiple steps that will be utilized in the program management process:.
Planning Phase.
This phase shall focus on the project scheduling, work breakdown schedule, feasibility study, project staffing and organization of the multiple project teams, project initiation, time management and risk management. To assist in the communication of the planning stage a combination of context diagrams and flowcharts will be utilized.
