Thank you all for coming to this beautiful occasion between these great people. For those of you who don't know, my name is Skyler Rawling and I have the honor of being Dave's best man. He and I have been best friends since Sunday school at Our Savior's in Hastings, Minnesota and all through high school. I met Brenda doing research at the Mauna Kea observatory on the Big Island of Hawaii. I knew right away that she and Dave would be perfect together. A little goofy, okay extremely goofy. Quiet until they have something hilarious to say. .
First I'd like to talk about Brenda and maybe embarrass her just a little. Like I said we met doing astronomy research for CalTech in Hawaii. One day, I'm sure she still remembers it, she thought I'd be a great teacher on how to surf. I can barely do it myself, but she insisted. So we got up early before work to go out to Kailua-Kona beach and I'd try to teach her. Never have I ever met anyone, besides myself, so uncoordinated. Watching her fall off as fast as she got up was very entertaining. .
Now it's your turn Dave, don't think I forgot about you. How could I possibly pick just one story for you? Well, I couldn't so I thought I'd tell a few. First, the oldest story I remember with him. One of the first few years we started going to Camp Wapo together we were top bunk buddies. We slept head to head and messed with the guys underneath us as much as we could get away with. The first night we did not want to sleep so Dave dove down and pulled all of the blankets off our friend Sam. Then Dave lays back like nothing happened while Sam freaks out. Counselor comes in and wants to know what's going on. We deny everything and continue to do the same thing three times until Sam comes out with his blankets onto the floor.
We spent many hours together because of showchoir and there's equally as many stories. First, our first year in Riverside, sophomore year, we made pancakes in a hotel room on our trip to Nashville.
