Symptoms, such as disturbing recurring flashbacks, repeated nightmares, and hyper arousal, continue for more than a month after the occurrence of a traumatic event are a diagnosis of Posttraumatic stress disorder. PTSD may develop after a person is exposed to one or more traumatic events, such as sexual assault, warfare, serious injury, or threats of imminent death.
A psychosocial disorder is a mental illness caused or influenced by life experiences, as well as disturbed cognitive and behavioral processes. "Psychosocial " refers to the psychological and social factors that influence mental health. Social influences such as peer pressure, parental support, cultural and religious background, socioeconomic status, and interpersonal relationships all help to shape personality and influence psychological character. Individuals with psychosocial disorders frequently have difficulty functioning in social situations and may have problems effectively communicating with others. In Sadie's case there are psychosocial factors present and she may have some moderate personality disorders.
Sadie doesn't get along with anyone or has any social or sexual interest. She hasn't gone to Comic Con in over a year. She also took a year off, moved from job to job. She claims she just turns people off and she doesn't associate herself with friends, just doesn't care anymore. People mock her because she's a "dyke " and it is very uncommon in her environment, so she is outside the norm. She seems paranoid and has chronic feelings of emptiness. She also has a case of Anhedonia, which is the inability to experience pleasure from activities usually found enjoyable. .
Comorbidity is the presence of one or more additional disorders co-occurring with a primary disease or disorder; or the effect of such additional disorders or diseases. The additional disorder may also be a behavioral or mental disorder. With Sadie's psychological symptoms and diagnosis she clearly has comorbid disorders.
