2. Minerals can be found in magma under the earth's surface. Magma comes from under the earths surface, pushing its way into cracks. As the magma raised it cools down to form igneous rock; the minerals inside the magma are also a part of the new rock. Once these mineral deposits cool, they arrange according to density. Some nickel and copper have similar destines.
3. The Canadian Shield is home to one of the oldest rocks in Canada, these rocks are located close to Great Slave Lake. The rocks are believed to be 3.96 billons years old. If you go visit the Slave Lake are mostly hills. Canadian shield is called storehouse of Canadas metallic material.
4. When glaciers retreated large amounts of soil many rocks and soil was carried away from the Canadian shield. Glaciation flattens hills and make very lake lakes, eskers etc. It compressed the bedrock so much that it would not let water pass through. Clay and other minerals change the direction of the map.
5. They are formed when mountain rocks break down then they fall into the lowlands and into the ocean, there is a lot of pressure down deep in the ocean. The pressure combines all the rocks together.
6 The rocks in the interior plans are seven meter thick. It is so thick because lot of the seas where shallow for million years this allowed the sediment rock to accumulate over the years. When the seas finally evaporated and then with left very thick rocks. .
7. The ancient coral reefs and the Interior Plains are important because they show that there used to be ocean over the plains long ago and the fossils are used to do research on what had happened before.
