My First Home in New York

In this area was also a closet that belonged to my brother Henry that he used to store all of his clothes and shoes.
To the left of the dining room was the kitchen. It was a spacious kitchen with lightly used appliances, hard wood cabinets, and a big counter. The cabinets were always filled with food and the hard wood color made good contrast with the yellow painted wall. This kitchen also had a big window. I recall constantly daydreaming on that window about many different things. There was also tall and big tree right outside that window. I stared at the birds while they sang, played and built their nest. This was very enjoyable and relaxing at the same time. .
To the right of the dining room was the living room. The walls were off white color and it was furnished with a sofa bed, a love seat and a glass coffee table. We watched family movies every Sunday night sitting on the sofas. The purpose of the sofa bed was for the guests to use, if they decided to stay over. It also had an entertainment center that held the T.V., the receiver and the speakers. It also held my trophies and some figurines that were important to my mother because they were imported from Dominican Republic. The glass coffee table was in the middle of the living room. This room also had two big windows with matching curtains that my mother loved to change weekly. One of the windows led to the fire escape. The fire scape is an exit out of the premises in case of en emergency. .
This apartment also had a hallway. At the beginning of this hallway was the linen closet, which my mother used to put all her belongings. The hallway also led to the bathroom and bedroom. The bedroom was in the middle of the hallway to the right. It was a small room, however, it had three beds. One was a twin-size over full-size bunk bed and the other one was just a regular full sized bed. I slept on the top bunk while my mother and sister slept in the bottom bunk.
