The first words that come to my mind when I think of Ramish are hard-working, brotherly and diligent. I first saw him in grade 6, when he joined my school and even then as a kid he looked mature. He was in the other section but during recess I would often get a glimpse of his outstanding athletic abilities. Although he was not in my social circle back then, I dearly wished we were friends. My wish was granted in grade 9 when both of us changed our school's branch and transferred to Lahore Learning Campus. And luckily we were given the same section and sat together for the entire O'levels. Because of his intellect, he was usually surrounded by students seeking help but he never showed any signs of anger. I can myself recall a moment when even I got frustrated by a classmate who was asking Ramish the same problem a numerous amount of times but each time Ramish tried to teach him an alternate method in the hope of making him get to the solution. There are countless memories that we have shared, a few of which stand out and hint at his flawless character and amazing potential.
Our O'level mathematics teacher was very strict and would often scold students for the tiniest of mistakes. Once a classmate was making noises in the class, and the teacher wrongly accused me. I did not have the strength to speak against the teacher but Ramish stood up for me and went to the principal's office for this rightful misconduct. The principal trusted him, the persuasive speaker that he was, and let me and him off the hook. When I later asked Ramish as to why he took this risk, he replied:" Always stand up for justice and truth, no matter how risky it seems." From that moment onwards, whenever I saw injustice and had the power to change it, his voice would echo in my mind and motivate me to stand up for the right thing. This remarkable trait of his has made the whole school respect him. One might think such popularity would make him arrogant but whenever praised, he would just smile and exhibit modesty.
