Acting Against Legalizing Medicinal Marijuana


There may be legitimate cases where one would need the THC, according to supposed "scientific evaluations", but many take advantage and abuse the "medicinal" purpose of this drug because it is so easily attainable. The easy obtainability of this drug will generate new consumers rather than rescuing current ones ("ARGUMENTS").
             Just because one may use this for its supposed medical benefits, it still does not take away that there are still symptoms and effects from the usage of this drug; increased risk of psychosis (which includes hallucinations, anxiety, memory loss, and confusion), inferior treatment of glaucoma, and increased risks of certain cancers such as lung and testicular cancer ("Marijuana-Marijuana"). "Drugs are addictive. They rob the user of free will. A drug user cannot make an informed and rational decision to continue using drugs because the use of the drug eliminates that user's ability to think logically. Nor can they disseminate themselves from drug taking" ("ARGUMENTS") Doctors in any way shape or form do not prescribe to the population that chooses to use this drug for medicinal purposes; it is simply a suggestion, which more or less would have a possibility to help the patient. Although, many patients become dependent on it; and yearn to obtain more. The possession of synthetic marijuana is against a federal law, yet twenty-three states have approved medical marijuana for some unknown reason ("23"). It does not make sense to utilize something that is a federal law everywhere but twenty-three states. It is a drug that should not be legalized in the first place. .
             Regardless of any of the benefits people claim are true, one fact remains undeniable: Marijuana is the most abused illegal drug in the world ("Marijuana"). According to radio show NPR, marijuana dispensaries outnumber Starbucks in California.
