Voices of American Poverty

One of the things that Abramsky says that points to his thesis perfectly is "There are people with no high school education who are poor, but there are also university graduates on food bank lines. In addition Card shows how labor market competition due to a rise in immigration vastly impacts local income. HE goes into depth and assess whether or not the costs outweigh the benefits of the recent spike of immigration into the United States. Card goes into the government's ineffective execution of immigration reform. Card also shows that immigrants are forced to take low income jobs and are ultimately denied basic human rights that the government claims to afford to everyone. Card calls for the change of policy in both immigration and poverty. .

By using real life examples you're able to look past typical stereotypes and clichés of what poverty looks like. .
