Every individual has goals whether it be personal or career goals. Often people would say that the success in their life is the most important goal than any other things. They always pursue such their goal, and to some degree, I have to agree with the reason why people pursue such their goal. However, I think that my most important goal is quite far from such goal which ordinary people pursue. I said that because recently I had to evaluate myself on what I really wanted to accomplish and why? (Thesis)Then I realized that my most important goal is attaining my bachelor degree because it will helps me in finding a good job, it provides job security, and it provides a higher salary.
Even though a bachelor degree is not necessary for getting certain positions, it can still be an important tool for gaining employment, and finding a good job. For example, if two job candidates have equal qualifications, an employer is more likely to choose the candidate with the college degree. In addition, even in jobs where a college degree is not relevant, such as in many hospitality or service jobs, employers are more likely to choose the candidate with a college degree. I had been very successful at obtaining positons that would normally require a bachelor's degree. However because of the change in the economy last year, I became unemployed and found myself back in the job market. The job market had become much more competitive than I had ever had known, and not having a bachelor's degree, it was very hard for me to find a job. Eventually I had to settle for a job that I didn't like and couldn't even provide a proper meal for my family.
Secondly, a bachelor's degree provides job security. Research has shown that most college graduates have better job security than those who are not college graduates. The reason being, for example, when it is time to lay off employees, employers are often more likely to choose employee without a college degree.
