Personal Narrative - My Transformation

Seeing my cousin in the distance, I approached her in distress. She comforted me with a smile and insured me that there was nothing to worry about. The power had gone out once again. "Welcome to Tanzania!" She snickered. Humph, this was going to be quite the challenge. We Canadians would never encounter such situations on a daily basis. Well, this was just something new to experience. I sat down onto the couch, pondering over what I was going to be doing until the power resumed. My phone was at 15% battery, which would be of no use. My 11-year old cousin came crashing down beside me. "Can we play Uno?" She remarked. Several rounds had been played; I was starting to become extremely impatient. HALLELUJAH! I shrieked in relieve a couple hours later.
That day, my cousin offered to take me on a short tour. Our mini adventure had been quite inspiring. I got an opportunity to witness a completely different lifestyle. The streets were packed. Women dressed in torn up, rigid attire wandered the streets. As we walked, I noticed many women whom had assembled mini stalls, selling goods to make as much as they could to feed their family. It was truly heartbreaking to see people living in such terrible conditions. There had been a lot of noise. Cars had been honking at one another, people screaming at car drivers as they cross the narrowly built roads. I had been astonished when I came to realize that there had been no traffic lights present on the roads. "WAAAIT" I heard my cousin holler as I was about to cross the street. She went on explaining about how one should cross carefully as drivers will not stop for an individual. .
Tuckered out, we headed back home. I decided to doze off for a few minutes. "Samita Samita Samita, wake up wake up, we're going to "saame par", I heard my cousin screaming from the top of her lungs. Startled, I sat up on my bed. We're going where? I questioned.
