Rags to Riches - Andrew Carnegie

As many of our fellow Americans have been in unfortunate financial trouble, there are also the few who remain at the top. Corporate employers remain at the top and seem to getting increasingly wealthier, their employees and farmers seem to be increasing their debt and not getting any gains from their hard work. As these problem rise there was a meeting held where all these Americans who play a role in society came together and shared their concerns and their solutions to the problems we are facing today in the 1890's. The first to speak was Andrew Carnegie the king of steel. He decided to give advice to the farmers and employees of factories. He stated that every person had the power to gain riches by working hard. But as that was said the farmers retaliated. The farmers described how they worked and worked and worked but no gains were made due to the fact that in order for them to have farms and work the land they had to take out loans. Which now if they made profits from their products they would not gain anything because they still had those loans to pay back. .
When the farmers gave their opinion on Carnegie's words the workers from railroad corporations, factories and many other corporations, one of them stood up to say his part. The workers declared their state of conditions, workers had long hours at work and got paid very little. They worked so much that most of the time they would take their work home in order to get paid a little more. The question is how these workers can rise up by working hard if that obviously is not enough to become one of the few. Carnegie and his fellow business owners kept their statement particularly the same they claimed that there are many obstacle to overcome but if you are strong anything is possible. That they have stayed on top because they have stayed strong and they are the fittest. In order to be successful you need to own your own land to have the freedom to do what will increase your riches.
