From the key indicators and research as per united cerebral palsy website (www.ucp.org), CP is one of the most rampant conditions whose description is not well known to the general public. .
Credibility Statement/Significance.
According to Kent, Ruth (2013) in the publication, Chapter 38: Cerebral Palsy. In Barnes MP, Good DC. A Handbook of Clinical Neurology on Importance of having knowledge about cerebral palsy, the individuals affected with CP, 28% have epilepsy, 58% have difficulties with communication, at least 42% have problems with their vision, and 23–56% have learning disabilities. This often go untreated and continuously affect them on their daily lives. Other vital aspects to note is that an assessed 764,000 children and adults are tormented with one or more symptoms of CP. About 8,000 children and babies are established to have CP each year and 1,200-1,500 preschool age children are documented with symptoms of CP (www.ucp.org). This qualifies it to be indeed a menace.
