It is quite enchanting how the black and white writings can contain so many colors, and captivates peoples heart in way there no being free from it. Despite literature having such a big effect on peoples life no one really knows for sure how to write anything effectively that will serve its purpose as literature. In the end it comes down to individual skills. And for that reason different opinions arise. For example where George Orwell believes being able to write good literature is a cumulative process, where Anne Lamott things it of as a more isolated process. Orwell believes as a writers life experience, writing experience builds up he or she will write even better. On the other hand, Anne Lamott believes almost anyone can write well if the proper steps are taken.
One thing that is common between the two writers is both of them insists on writing what comes to mind, at least to some level. Lamott is more open minded in that matter. She likes to write whatever comes to mind, where you let it all pour out and then let it romp all over the place (Anne Lamott, p.45). Orwell does write whatever comes to mind, he is more composes. Its more like he does the first draft in his mind. In doing so he expresses his opinion and belief, I write it because there is some lie that I want to expose, some fact to which I want to draw attention, and my initial concern is to get a hearing. (George Orwell, p.4).
Life experience plays a major part in writing for Orwell. His writing style, motivation all are subject to change as per to current circumstance. Though he retains his experience in writing. His writing in his childhood, his teens, his early youth when he stopped writing for a while and his mature age, all this time if seen chronologically he has shown growth as a writer, and most important of all he is aware of it, although the awareness came at the mature age. He writes when something drives him to write, like some experience, some thoughts to share, or some major political incident .
