Leadership of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney

Obama lived in Hawaii with his grandparents, mother and sister for most of his life without his father in the picture. Obama received his degree in political science from Columbia University in 1983.and then went into Harvard Law School in 1988. There, he was the first African American elected editor of the Harvard Law Review. This was the beginning of Obama starting to show part of his leadership qualities. After graduating and receiving his law degree, Obama ran for Illinois senate as a democrat nominee in 1996 and won. He stayed part of the senate for a while and then ran for president in 2008. He won, and became the first African American president in the United States. Now, these two candidates (Mitt Romney and Barack Obama) are running neck and neck against each other in the 2012 presidential elections. Both of these leaders came from very different backgrounds and encountered some similar, and some very different experiences throughout their lives so far. This is partially the reason for their similarities and differences in their leadership styles today. .
Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have many similarities when it comes to their style of leading and their leadership characteristics. For example, both leaders show much confidence in their style when it comes to how they lead and their campaigning. When Barack Obama became president in 2009, he inherited 2 wars and large debt in the United States and still, Obama maintained a high confidence level, which made the people more confident as well. Romney also has a confidence about him. During his campaign he makes sure to reveal that confidence and again, this gives the people comfort and confidence as well. Having this sort of mindset is clever for both of their styles because it helps to eliminate doubt by their followers. Also, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both have a style of respecting the people; and in return many of the people have the same respect for them.
