Analysis of a Reddit Post

They also don't want to see any type of harassment on the page. The page is for people's enjoyment and the readers don't want to see people complaining about something of offending someone on the page. It isn't funny and takes away from the page as a whole. When someone doesn't follow these rules their post will be physically taken down by a moderator. This was proved to me when I made a post in r/AskReddit and didn't put a question mark at the end of it, which is one of their rules. The next time I looked at it there was a message that said it was deleted because it did not follow the page requirements. reddit is very good at keeping each subreddit limited to exactly what it wants in its community.
Besides the rules for what a member is allowed to post, there are a complete separate list of rules that determine if a post does well on reddit. There rules are not listed anywhere because they are the implicit rules. An implicit rule is something that is implied or understood though not directly expressed. On reddit these are what separates the good posts from the bad ones. For people to enjoy a post, especially on r/funny, short and sweet is best. Every example that I looked at of a long article or a video had a very low percentage of up votes. People like to be able to open a link, laugh, and move one. If they open a link and have to wait for a couple seconds before they can get to the part that stimulates their interest they will be upset and actually down vote a post. In general the members on reddit are quite impatient and get upset if they have to wait. The ones that were articles did especially badly because besides taking a long time to get to the funny point, the member has to actually take the work to read the whole thing. This does not make them happy. Even among the short posts the presentation is very important. If a picture is stretched or blurry then it will be down voted even if it had the potential to be a funny post.
