I walked into the room and sat at the left side of the room where everyone was visible. I introduced myself and explained my purpose of being at the meeting. My methods of observation was to watch the body language of the member's through the meeting. I listened to how students ask questions and discus healthcare topics. While taking notes I listened to any communication going on before, during, and after the meeting. The notes that I took during the meeting were analyzed and revised to get results for my hypothesis.
Meeting.
The meeting was very professional, everyone sitting at a conference table, leather comfortable chairs, and white boards at each end of the room. The location and size of the room seated every member who showed up. The room was quiet and members were fully engaged with the organized power point. The power point was clear with what was being offered at CSU in there biomedical program. There was a video of previous students who attended the program and shared a little bit of their experiences. The power point was very informal and the purpose of it reached the members, which was what the program had to offer.
As I'm watching students enter the room and sit down at the conference table some talking and some quiet waiting patiently till the meeting began. A small group of three sit together discussing their day and how things were going. A few others looking relaxed and facing the projector screen. As the meeting begins five to seven members have their notebooks out ready to take notes. Some few minutes goes by after the presentation has started and a few more members come in sneaking in while everyone turns there head for a second. As the meeting was rolling on, about half way through three of the twelve member's eyes begin wondering. In fact, the eye wonderers were new members.
The presenter Erin from Colorado State University gets involved with the students before her presentation answering questions prior.
