According to Peterson's doctor they scratches and bruises looked to be abusive, but from the pictures I seen on google, they looked like it may have been an incident where the child was going crazy while getting the whooping, such as kicking, throwing himself down on the ground and trying to stop Peterson. Although in just about every case where a four-year-old is getting punished for something they did, the outcome is usually a fit getting thrown during they whooping's and everyone knows it is almost impossible to whip a moving child on the rear end without hitting them in places other than the buttocks. .
On top of Peterson being punished by the boy's mother, the doctor and the judge. Peterson was also removed from the team for eight games previous to the court date and possibly for the remainder of the 2014 season.
