Overpaying Athletes

There is an expression saying, Time is money. Well, athletes are working all the time. As they grow up they work hard to become the best. Athletes work hard throughout their whole live to become the best and have the chance to make it to the professional level. Once at the professional level they practice nearly everyday during their season as well as over the off-season. Seasons usually last around 4 to 7 months. That is a long period of time of having to compete, practice, and travel. Because athletes have to travel so much, they would rarely see their families. Because athletes are paid more they can afford the expenses to have their family travel with them. Having their family travel with them will make them happy, and some say that it even helps the player preform better. .
Nick: There is no doubt that professional athlete put in long hours and effort during their high school and college days to help them reach the elite level. As for their professional lives, the time commitments they make dont in anyway justify their salaries. Regular, hard working people with professions they dont get the chance to enjoy every day put in just as long and hard hours. Doctors go through up to 10 years of extra schooling only to begin their chosen profession. Along with that, laboratory doctors make upwards of $280,000 a year. That number doesnt even come close to the average amount professional athletes make. Teachers, lawyers, and salesmans time are so valuable to our everyday lives to keep the world moving and to better society and yet their salaries just as well dont justify their time commitments. But you dont see these hard working people complaining for higher pay because their idea of money is reasonable compared to that of professional athletes. A couple of examples of athletes who make way too much money are Aaron Rodgers of the Packers, Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers, and Derrick Rose of the Bulls.
