A Family Portrait

This picture of my family shows the unity within my family members and I. My family is very important to me, because they are the people I go to when I need advice. I trust them more than anything. What this portrait says about my family, is that despite our differences we still manage to maintain sanity amongst each other. In a first person perspective, we fight often, more than we probably should. My parents are seen as the mediators of the family, especially when my sister and I are not getting along. My family does have flaws. When we work together with our different strengths amongst us, we can get things accomplished. Despite these differences, we can continue to remain unified at the end of the day. They all have different personalities, making them different from each other. .
In this picture, my family and I are smiling together. This is symbolizing a happy family. In reality, my family is not as happy as you would think. Behind the smiling faces, are tongues that speak hurtful words to each other. We fight a lot when it comes to spending time with one another, as a group. When we try to spend time together, someone ends up criticizing another person and then we all end up fighting about the smallest things. We are all wearing blue and white in this picture, because we wanted to be wearing similar colors. We wanted to look as though we were one loving family.
An olfactory feeling I get with my mom, is the scent of vanilla. Ever since I was little, my mom has had a naturally sweet vanilla scent on her. Her creamy fragrance always reminded me of a factory, that bakes fresh vanilla cakes. She smells like a fresh flower; drenched in cream. My mom also has a soothing and nurturing voice. Her pacifying tone, is like hearing a lullaby being sung to an infant. The pitch of her voice is not high or low, but moderate. My mom has a gentle touch; smooth like satin and nurturing like a mothers arms.
