SELECTION, AND INCLUSION AND EXCLUSION CRITERIA.
Studies included were experimental studies (RCT) that were published between 2009 to 2014 (Ridley, 2012) that appraised the effectiveness of life style intervention (Physical exercise and diet) compared with the control, the aim of the study been to prevention type 2 diabetes or reduction or risk of T2DM, and studies which focused on effectiveness of lifestyle intervention and improving the adherence of the participants to the behavioral changing intervention. I selected the papers that had participants who are 18 years and above. The participants will in one way or the other be compared to be at risk of developing T2DM example; having family history of diabetes, being overweight, living a sedentary lifestyle, have IGT or IFG or both, be of older age, or have an elevated diabetic risk score ( Absetz et al., 2009, and Sathish et al., 2013). These elected studies have a minimum follow-up of one year, which are focused on primary prevention, there-by excluding studies that included secondary and tertiary prevention. In addition, the studies outcome measured incidence and body mass index (BMI) and were all reported in English language.
