A Social View of Criminal Justice

On this 23rd day of October, 2014 I, Dominique James has been tasked with the duty of providing to the best of my ability my services to my client Cody Jones. Having been charged with robbery and felony murder, my role in the juvenile justice is providing the best rehabilitation for Jones as a social worker. My role as his social worker is first assisting my client at his arrest. Second, supervise and support during his incarceration of any kind or making home visits while awaiting trial. Third, if incarceration was utilized prepping him for his entrance and stay as well as release would be my duty. Lastly, assisting him during post-trial whether he is ordered to probation or incarceration is detrimental to resisting recidivism. [Sim10].

On October 1st, 2014 Cody and his friend Justin who was 17 were walking home from school. While doing so discussed life and their current situations and the sad reality of not having what they wanted. Justin a much older and smarter kid had much influence over Cody. As they continued to walk home they came upon an elderly man setting up the kick stand on his bike. Justin asked Cody if he wanted a bike, Cody of course said yes not truly understanding what Justin intended. As they walked up on the elderly man Justin threatened the man to give him the bike. The two wrestled with each other while Cody stood scared not knowing what he should do. After what seemed like an eternity the old man freed himself from and Justin. Justin then pulled out a pocket knife and lunged at the man stabbing him repeatedly in the head until he was no longer resisting.
