Robert Frost's poem "After Apple Picking"," focused on a few normal aspects of life that Frost and even people to this day still have to struggle with. Struggle's that are common for people with heavy workloads and restrictions. Restrictions that are sometimes hard to control that if not followed, can lead to negative results. Results that derive from a choice that is made by the individual on what is truly important. I agree with the message that Frost is relaying between the lines and can interoperate and relate the message to situations normal everyday people have to handle. .
Frost begins to describe himself on a ladder picking apples high up from an apple tree. As Frost is picking the apples, he starts to think of his workload and how much he still has to do, which in this situation is filling apple barrels. Frost knows he still has a lot of work to do as he is on the ladder picking from this apple tree but is tired and aware that winter soon approaches, leaving little time to reap the full harvest. Frost is surrounded by apples, his harvest was obviously more than what he can handle. Frost would have dreams where apples were all that was around. Frost could feel his feet and body ache from the constant labor of picking apples and began to realize his limits. It seemed that Frost had more than enough work but not enough time to sleep and care for himself.
Frost's poem can easily be related to his biography in reference to many situations that Frost had to deal with from adolescence to adulthood. Frost's mother worked as a teacher for little pay to support her two children after the death of Frost's father. The work load became too much for her to bare so in order to properly support herself and her children, she decides to move to Massachusetts to be cared for by grandparents. She realized that she needed to seek help or otherwise the family would not properly be supported. Frost, later on, went to attend Harvard University.
