The Process of Falling in Love

The thing about falling in love is that it's never your choice. You have no idea who you'll run into one day, and ultimately have your life flip upside down. It's an extraordinary feeling, but with all the amazing hope, there's still that scary part, that nobody really likes to talk about. The part in the back of your head, where you can ask yourself repeatedly ˜is this my soul mate " ˜is this forever ". Most of the time you're so distracted from being in love, that you have no time to even think about any downfall. And I believe that's what a relationship is all about, focusing so much on your partners happiness, and building that stable relationship that you can't even give them one second of doubt. Movies, books, TV shows, friends, always ask ˜What is a relationship all about " I never really knew either, until I met my boyfriend. I unquestionably don't even refer to him as my boyfriend most of the time, but more as my future. The thing about our relationship nevertheless, is that he lives 800 miles away. Even though he is worth every mile between us, our relationship is definitely not the easiest. With a long distance relationship, trust is the key factor and all about understanding your partner. You should only trust someone who can see the sorrow behind your smile, the love behind your anger, and the reason behind your silence, that way you know they understand YOU. A relationship without trust never drives anywhere. Although trust is the most important in any relationship, I believe appreciation and continuously proving to your partner that they are loved and cared for is additionally meaningful. Despite the distance, it should never be impossible. There are days where you will fight, and bicker, and lose communication but it is so very crucial that you know exactly how to handle those situations, and put your right foot forward. Never, ever should you talk to your partner like you are bigger than them, because although you're angry or upset, it should still always be about the other person more than yourself.
