Children growing up in the age of technology expect instant gratification. Having the Internet means there is no waiting and instant results are available with minimal effort. These traits don't translate to the classroom, where teachers expect students to work hard for their grades, and be patient and persistent in their efforts. As a result, students are often unable to work through higher order thinking problems. They also fail to manage their time efficiently. Furthermore they are unable to interact effectively with other students regarding school related projects which definitely affects their developing work ethics. .
             Albeit those aforementioned disadvantages today the proliferation of internet use has increased the diversity of knowledge. Now students have more options available to them while choosing their careers. They now have access to every piece of information without any age barriers. From online learning to interactive whiteboards to social media, technology continues to reshape the education field. Technology allows students from across the world to collaborate on projects, while laptops and computers provide students with an opportunity to learn anywhere they wish to. The world has become a global village. People sitting in one place can be in touch with others around the globe at their fingertips. They are able to share their work, personal experience and thus increase their ability to network. This has drastically reduced the amount of time it took to transport knowledge before the invention of the internet. .
             A person in this technological era consumes and collects information like a hoarder purchases and collects things. Some of this acquired information may not be complete or some may not be of any use to them. Incomplete knowledge often leads to the distortion of facts and the propagation of improper knowledge. In the race to be more knowledgeable and impactful, people fail to realise that society today needs more of quality rather than quantity.
