Few, if any, criminals elicit more disdain, contempt, disgust and outrage than those adults whom assault innocent children and rob them of their adolescence, virtue, and future well being. While these monsters are convicted and sentenced for their heinous acts, they often find themselves back on the street after minimal time served. These repeat offenders enjoy the continuation of lenient penalties couples with a prison system charged with keeping the sex criminal separate from the general population for fear of internal justice at the hands of the other inmates. In contrast to the protection afforded the pedophile, no such measures exist under child abuse laws, laws, leaving millions of American children directly in harm's way. This report will illuminate the fact that the majority of these felons return to society only to carry out further destruction on children. .
Society defines the role of adults to be caretakers of the children, while the survival of a child is heavily dependent, if not solely based, on adult protection. Most people are hardwired to naturally protect the young, but there is a bewildering amount of individuals that are inherently born without, or never developed, a sense of cognitive morality, creating many sadistic psychopaths. Sexual abuse is a global problem of epidemic proportions such that studies show that one out of ten children will have been sexually assaulted at least once in their life. More often than not the assailant will victimize children of their own immediate family or that of a family friend, neighbor, or co-worker. Sometimes their victimization choice is a result of opportunity more than a habitual preference; however, many types of victimization occur and makeup many very different t types of deviants. .
