Why I picked why girls should be allowed to play boys sports is because I played football. I didn't see anything about girls are not allowed to play. I loved playing football. I think its fine to allow girls to play boys sports because they can do the same thing boys can do. If you look at cheerleading I think that is for girls but boys can cheer to. If men can cheer to then why can't women play men's sports? Girls have their rights and can choose if they want to play sports with boys or not. Girls could have their own sports and not include boys to make them see how it feels to be rejected. Difference in gender is not a reason for this type of discrimination. We will change things so that were treated equally. We were all created equally and that's how God created us. If boys and girls were on the same team the boys would leave the girls out, most boys think of girls as weak while they are strong. Equal opportunities should be given to all, no matter what religion they follow, which race they are, or what gender they are. And in sports it should be the same way. In sports gender is an issue because the boy sports team don't like girls on their team. Equal opportunities to play on sports team are given to both boys and girls. Civil Rights guarantee that girls have the same opportunity as boys to play on high school sports. Some people do not want girls to play on boys sports teams, because they feel that if the girls play with the boys, they will get hurt. But that hasn't proven that girls can't play. Boys get hurt and girls get hurt but that doesn't mean that girls still can't play. There are benefits to both boy and girl playing on the same team. Both girls and boys learn lessons from it. The girls learn that to be more competitive and the boys learn to be more cooperative. Gen King, a college athlete said that "playing seven years with boys sharpened my skills". If she hadn't played with the boys and improved her skills, she might not have gotten to the college level and it is probably the same for many other female athletes.
