He discusses that each corporate business either has a taker, a matcher, and the giver as the leader. The taker is known as the more dominant one of the three. Takers are known to charm or flatter. Takers like to be in control and feel superior to others. They also set goals for themselves rather than set goals for the company. Over a period of time, they start to burn bridges with certain individuals causing people to retaliate. People would retaliate through negative comments and gossip. Kenneth Lay from Enron is one example of a corporate taker. His selfishness caused many people to turn against him. Lay only made decisions that were beneficial for him and not for the company or the employees. Lay was appointed by George W. Bush to chair of his financial campaigns during his election.
