The biggest issue in the government right now is the issue of gun control. What is it? Gun control are laws set in place, put there by the government in order to help limit the usage of guns in the United States. The goal is to help limit crime and violence but in essence does nothing but restrict Americans from their natural-born rights as the right-winged conservatives would say. Gun control should not be implemented because guns provide a sense of security, help lower crime rate, and the second amendment states that the right to bear arms should not be infringed.
First, gun control should not be implemented because the second amendment states, "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed, "(Bill of Rights 2). America's founding fathers made this an amendment to protect the citizens from all enemies foreign and domestic. If this right were not set in place there would not even be an American. Attorney General John Abbott states, "Not only do I believe the Second Amendment is right, I believe Barack Obama's approach to dealing with this issue is all wrong, " the Republican attorney general said. "He's wrong to politicize the tragedy in Connecticut, he's wrong to blame guns rather than criminals, and he's wrong to push an agenda that is designed to score points but not designed to do anything to make the country safer" (Slater). This subject is stirring up all sorts of commotion in Washington and the Liberals and Conservatives cannot come to an agreement. The Liberals are claiming that the guns are the issue of violence yet the Conservatives are stating that it's the people to blame, not the guns, that guns don't kill people. People kill people. So far the government has already infringed the amendment by enforcing gun control laws, which only means that the laws are unconstitutional.
