The information can vary from name, mailing address, email address, phone number, credit card number and account number, driver license number, social security number and demographics and lifestyle information; some of this information is essential for completing purchases or orders but others have no purpose of being obtained such as demographics and lifestyle information or driver license numbers. Best Buy even states that they may collect information from calling them with a question, writing a review or even browsing on their website. They should only use and store information from users that open accounts or credit cards or from people who actually opt in to them remembering their information.
Best Buy also states that they may save information about other people that users give them like gift recipients addresses and names and contact info's of pickup persons. This seems really unreasonable, during the process it is needed to hold this information but after delivery or pick up this information should be saved unless the person chooses to have them store this information for later use. Best Buy issues credit cards through their companies in which they obtain all of your financial information and as well, may share this information with third parties and banking partners which most people may not realize.
