In the month of June, 1755. George Washington was serving for a British General, Edward Braddock. They had just lost a battle in Pennsylvania and 1,000 of their 1,459 soldiers were killed along with General Braddock. Because of his death, someone had to take command and lead the Virginia settlers and the British to safety. This person was George Washington. Because of his courageous act he achieved the rank of Brigadier General. He then helped capture Fort Duquesne. All of this fighting in the wilderness improved Washington's military skills and made him a better soldier. This is an example of how George Washington affected the political relations by showing how he wanted to, and became a better soldier. Unlike Washington, many other colonial soldiers didn't have quite the heroic or fulfilling experience as he did.
A Massachusetts soldier wrote in his diary, "And we, being here within stone walls, are not likely to get liquor or clothes at this time of the year; and though we be Englishmen born, we are debarred Englishman's liberty. Therefore we now see what is to be under martial law and to be with the British regulars, who are but little better than slaves to their officers." (Doc. D) this quote shows that the colonial soldiers were not treated well, and that times were miserable for them while they were waiting from September, to November, for something to do.
Next, the economical factors that explain why the colonists wanted to obtain all of the goods on the Native Americans land that wasn't theirs, and how this lead to why the British government was in debt after the war and how they solved this problem. In Cassatego's speech, he explains that the Native Americans are not happy with the colonial settlement on their grounds without the proper purchase of it. This is also a reason that the Iroquois Tribe sided with the British. Because of the French's desire to settle on this land, the French and Indian war started which resulted in the defeat of the French and a "Treaty of Paris".
