For the simple fact there would be little to no room on land to set up a mining company. Quarrying I can see some relatively high numbers of employment in but not too high with it being not too many areas to collect stone and slate from. With the Atlantic being so close there can be some oil and gas extraction going on a few miles off shore. Code number twenty two is for Utilities. Which I believe would be in the medium category. Manhattan has a high population and along with extreme cold winters and hot summers all those people are going to need things such as heat and air conditioning in their homes or place of business. And with all the high rise buildings and high cost for air space there is going to be a large need for those resources, especially with the need for the energy suppliers to become more eco-friendly. Construction is another employment field that I can see in the medium bracket but on the rise. Many people are either moving to New York, moving around in New York, or trying to open a new business in New York. With that is going to come many new opportunities and jobs for these construction companies to supply a nice high amount of employment. .
Code twenty one is manufacturing. New York to me I would believe is a large manufacturing state for clothing. Being that New York is large fashion Capital the employment may be high. Wholesale trade may be difficult to find a job in Manhattan due to lack of space with all the buildings being occupied and the cost of rent may exceed the actual profit of the wholesale job itself. Code forty four is one that I believe is medium with the amount of people in Manhattan they are going to need stores like Walmart or Target to supply these people who maybe aren't trying to buy items in bulk like with wholesale trade.
