6 billion by 2020 and 2.6 billion in 2050.
             The Role of the UNESCO.
According to Graber (2006), the UNESCO was created in 1945 by 44 countries with the belief that political and economic interests are not enough to ensure the peace in the world. Peace should be established and maintained with humanity's moral values and intellectual solidarity (Unesco.org, 2013). Therefore, the purpose of the UNESCO was defined as:.
" to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among nations through education, science and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms () without distinction of race, sex, language or religion" (UNESCO.com, 2013, online).
According to Briney (2011), nowadays the UNESCO has more than 195 countries members; it is based in Paris and has more than fifty offices distributed in the world. David (2012) states that the UNESCO is known as the intellectual agency of the UN and has five main themes to his program: education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and communication. UNESCO's mission is to build and maintain the peace, eradicate the poverty from the world and create an international dialogue through science, education, culture, communication and information. The UNESCO tries to involve all countries in international and transcultural discussions through the organisation of congresses and conventions in order to raise awareness and find solutions for the world's social problems (Unesco.org, 2013). The UNESCO is engaged globally with a wide range of initiative, all decided and supervised by UNESCO's managing bodies. The UNESCO has different projects with the scope of improving the number of children with access to education. Saeed (2014) argues that in Africa the number of children frequenting the school is very low, for instance in Nigeria there are more than ten million children, especially females, out of school.
