When I hear the word globalization, the first thing that comes into my mind is the word "technology". Yes, globalization was made possible and effortless through the presence of technology. From the computers, laptops, mobile phones, radioactive devices and etc., all are related to technology which made our life more convenient and efficient.
Next is industrialization, globalization can be in contrast with the word industrialization. Urbanization includes those skyscraper buildings that are like mushrooms that will suddenly come out from here and there. Those infrastructures we can see everywhere in which resulted to cutting our trees and hurting our environment which causes pollution, natural disasters and most especially global warming. Those things would not be possible without the existence of human being, right? Yes, these things are useless and would not work if human beings don't exist. According to Nietzsche, "Nature without man is void and pointless. Nature without man is without use. Nature does not make any sense without man." The question here is, why are human beings are alienated with their own work? And why are human beings instead of manipulating the things around them, they are the ones being manipulated by those? I would like to point out my arguments here as to first, how is man being alienated in our society today, what were the kinds of alienation that man experiences and second, I will be connecting the alienation of man to capitalism and globalization.
The Alienation of Man.
There are four things for which man is alienated it is from the object he produces, from the process of production, from himself, and from the community of his fellows. For Marx, the most apparent form of alienation is material and economic. We are living in this world where material and economic things are essentials in order for us to live. Man engages in production for economic purpose which is in order to have money and survive the struggles of his daily life.
