The little princess, Cassandra did not quite understand the gravity of the situation but she did know that her mother had done something awfully wrong. Emilia realized that there was no way she could return to the kingdom and she had to start a whole new life. She stroked her daughter's hair and refused to think of what the future had in store for her. .
The next morning, Emilia awoke to the sound of a busy street, she was confused, she wondered where all the noise came from, since the log house was in an isolated forest. She stepped out of the house and she felt her head swirling. Her surroundings had completely changed, far away she could see a skyline of buildings, concrete roads. She could hardly believe it but she was in the future. She pinched herself to see if she dreaming but she wasn't. The log house had travelled in time. She was bewildered and couldn't make sense of what was going on. She ran back into the house and shut the door and she opened it again, hoping she would go back to the past but nothing happened. She woke up Cassandra and they decided to go explore the outside world. As they walked the streets, Emilia found something amiss. There was a couple who were walking ahead of them but the man walked ahead and the wife maintained a distance and walked behind him, her eyes to the ground. Emilia could feel the authority the man subjected on his wife. Throughout the day, Emilia noticed this form of behavior in all men. They behaved like they were supreme beings and treated women as unequal. She could not quite understand why this was happening.
