Social experiences, undoubtedly, are dramatically deemed to as indispensable living skills by today's society which brings about some people hold an opinion that students who graduated from high schools should go to work or travel for one year in order to gain harvest from the outer world. This rhetoric, in my opinion, is unreasonable for the following reasons.
First, academic education is a continuous process which is comprised of primary school, junior high school, senior high school and college education and with each part of the education intermitted or discarded; the education system would not be integrated. Students who have just graduated from high schools may encounter troubles in further academic study if they spend a whole year's time in working or traveling. They themselves would become forgetful to the intrinsic knowledge which was learned a year ago. They may find it's tough to concentrate their mind into study. Furthermore, they may indulge in the dazzling scenery and feel evasive to school life. Clearly, a continuous stage of education benefits the youth.
Second, high school graduates are not mature enough to surf in the undercurrent onrushing society both in physical and mental aspect. A yearly scientific statistics by the world health organization demonstrates that boys and girls will not respectively reach their maturity until the age of 25 and 23 to obtain the ability of analyzing things. Teenagers who have just finished their high school life do not possess, or say not perfectly contain the viability. A Chinese saying goes; hot tofu can not be eaten in a rush. Thus, it's impulsive and unintelligent to rush out of the campus before conditions are available.
Third, the raise of the absurd assertion can be largely attributed to the fact that people are doubted the fact whether college life can cultivate students' personality, working skills etc. which working and traveling can impact.
