"C's get degree!" - The voice of college students everywhere .
"C's get degrees!" This is how most college students think. They don't take college and studying seriously. Students need to get more motivation and focus on their education. There are so many things that can distract students from doing their best. I am even guilty of some of these reasons. Today's college students are not serious-minded when it comes to academics. A lot of college students don't take their studies seriously. These students typically procrastinate on their assignments and studying for their classes. Not studying and doing homework leads to not doing well on tests, and ultimately not doing very well in the class overall. If students don't pass or do well in the class, they may have to retake the class and pay more money and time to do better (assuming they don't procrastinate the second time). For example, a friend of mine procrastinated on her studying and homework assignments in her Spanish class. She procrastinated so much that she only had time to do half of the problems on one of her assignments. She ultimately failed the class and had to take it completely over the next year. When people don't do well in a class, they lose motivation and self-esteem. .
In addition, college students don't have very much motivation. Basically they only go to class because they have to in order to obtain a degree. A lot of young adults like to go out partying, drinking, and having a "good time", while neglecting their responsibilities. They go out partying because they have the freedom in college to do what they want to, that they didn't have when they lived at their parents. The down side of partying all night, is that they have a hangover if they were drinking, and want to sleep all day. In result, possibly missing class and not doing very well in the class. They are also distracted the day that they are going to go out, they are thinking about what they are going to wear or who they might meet.
