Bronze became so widely used across the land that now that era is referred to as the Bronze Age (3000 B.C. to 1000 B.C.) Then around 1000 B.C. was the introduction of Iron. .
             .
The Bronze Age brought us large-scale architecture in Egypt and Mesopotamia. Egypt and Mesopotamia both have similar climates they both are located on two great rivers. Mesopotamia is located on the Tigris and Euphrates and Egypt on the Nile. Even though their climates are the same they developed very different but distinct cultures. Both Egypt and Mesopotamia developed around 3000 B.C.
Mesopotamia had a diverse culture. The people brought with them different languages, religion, and customs. Mesopotamia can be divided into two different cultures, the Sumerian and Semitic. The word Semitic comes from the name Shem, a son of Noah. So even now we are seeing a pattern of the world, as we know it today take shape. The most common of these people are Jewish and traditionally spoke Hebrew. The most important thing that the Sumerian people did was inventing the first form of writing known as Cuneiform. With this new talent they were able to keep records and trade with other civilizations and therefore they formed into civilized towns. The main center of the community was the temple. The temple was where the particular god who watched over that community resided. .
So again I have to reference in the importance of the temple and religion in this society. One of the first great masterpieces of poetic expression came out of this time. The Ruler Gilgamesh, his legend developed in to a series of poems. Mesopotamia fell to the Semitic King Sargon around 2350 to 2150 B.C. The art of this time show the trend of the Sumerian age. At this time the people had given up total submission to the gods and replaced it with a positive attitude of human achievement. The Gutians from Iran defeated King Sargon. That is very noticeable by the architecture of the time, which has a significance amount of religious detail the temples are made out of stones, and they have huge staircases that lead to the top of the temple where there is a shrine.
