Is Wind Energy Efficient? .
One of the most important factors towards the wind energy is to determine how efficient wind turbines are. "The average household generates approximately 1.2 to 1.6 kw/h. Wind turbines can generate from around 600 kw/h, to 4.4 Mw/h. That is equivalent to lighting 10,000 to 100,000 light bulbs." Wind turbines are easy to maintain, and the hardly require any maintenance. "They can produce electricity, from revolving from 30-60 r.p.m (Revolution per minute), to 1000–1500 r.p.m." Wind turbines are very effectively designed, that even the very little breeze of wind can make the turbines spin at reasonable speeds. .
By 2020, the world energy consumption has expected to rise 60 percent. Major countries like, United States and China have emerged to innovate wind efficient environment. Canada, on the other hand had plentiful resources of fuels and unlimited resource of uranium, also showed relevant project that would be beneficial for them, determining 30 percent of wind powered electricity by 2010. "In 2001, the Government of Canada provided $260 million for producing wind turbines to the WPPI (Wind Power Production Incentive). This will create 1000 megawatts of wind energy in the next five years. By the year of 2010, Canada hopes to rely on wind power by 30%." .
Where are the Turbines Placed?.
Wind turbines are basically high visible elements in the landscape. They are placed on valleys and mountains, where the most wind is acquirable, and also in the water. A flat area where there is plenty of water is often targeted placement for turbines. We can vividly imagine turbines being placed on rural areas inside the United States. While driving towards the Ohio valley, or West Virginia, we can see the blushes of scattered turbines placed in weird looking environment, but the thing is that the windy reason are equipped by the turbines. .
