Three Day Food Intake Plan



             The appropriate amount of protein consumption is essential for maintaining a healthy diet. If an individual does not consume enough protein, the body would start to break down muscle tissue in order to get protein. .
             If an individual goes without protein for extended period of time, a person will start to have poor growth, abnormal hair growth and very weak immune systems. In many countries there are children that suffer from "Kwashiorkor, which is due to a lack of protein in their diet ("Pubmed health," 2010) ". If an individual consumes too much protein, the kidneys within the body will have to work harder. With too much protein consumption, an individual can become dehydrated, which can make you feel lousy, because your body uses extra water to flush out extra urea, a byproduct of protein digestion. .
             Carbohydrates are the most important source of energy that the body can use. From my iProfile, I consumed 1523 kCal, which was within acceptable macronutrient distribution range. My intake was about 381g. The foods that provided the most carbohydrates in my recorded daily intake are the whole wheat Bruegger's Bagels, whole wheat Taco Del Mar Tortilla, and salted pretzels. I did very well is this area. I couldn't believe that I got 60% of the recommended amount. An individual concentrating on losing weight will have to remember that eating too many carbohydrates can potentially cause weight gain. An individual that does not eat enough carbohydrates may experience energy loss.
             Lipids are used to store energy. There were a few things that I consumed that contributed to my lipids. I consumed a total of 775 kCal of lipids, which was within the recommended range. The food that provided the most lipids in my recorded daily intake are Margarine, CHICK-FIL-A Potato Fries, Waffle, Medium, and Pecans, Chopped. I was not surprised that I eat the recommended amount of fat. An individual that does not eat enough fat may experience many major health issues such as; vitamin deficiencies, low growth, and low energy.
