So many people walk around with a meaningless life; seemingly half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and dedicate yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning. " As a student at Trevor Browne high school, I myself have learned a lot about myself, and the type of person I may end up being in the future. In 2007, my TÃo died of a heart attack. That ruined me because our family would usually spend the holidays together and I would love being with them. Nothing had ever hurt me more than losing him since he meant a lot to me and my dad. Despite the fact of his passing, what he left behind was more than just his memories but the motivation of wanting more out of life, just like he'd always tell me to do; to work hard solely for myself.
There's times where money runs low in my family but my mom tries her best to keep us happy and occasionally I feel like we ask her for too much. I tell my little brother and sister to learn to appreciate what they have now, rather than what they want for the future. My siblings, including myself, have it so easy, when there are kids out there who see it as an everyday struggle to even find a place to sleep, something we find pretty simple. .
Throughout my 16 years of living I always went to the same friends, the same type of people. Now, meeting the people that I have met so far is slowly changing my life. It's letting me realize that it's okay to meet new people and its okay for them to be different. It's got me to the point where I realized, I used to hang out in the bad crowd. This year most of them go to Maryvale high school. I'm kind of glad but at the same time I'm not, because even though they did bad things, I really got along with them.
