Calliope was in the middle of her sophomore year of college. Two years ago, she received an exciting letter in the mail, regarding admittance to a university. It just so happened that it was from her dream school: the University of California, Los Angeles. She was over the moon, excited as a young child on Christmas day. The only thing hurting was the enormous price tag on the school. Because Calliope lived across the country in Connecticut, her tuition cost was sky rocket high. She signed up for every scholarship possible as well as applied for financial aid. She managed to lower her tuition costs by half, but tens of thousands of dollars were still not wallet friendly. .
On a cool Thursday evening, Calliope and her roommate and best friend Ingrid are casually watching their favorite TV show, Vampire Diaries. The two start talking about how they want to fly to Florida over break to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. "I really wish we could go with Fleur and Allison to Orlando next month"," Ingrid sadly sighs.
"Yeah, me too. Too bad we don't have that much spending money. It really sucks that school is so darn expensive."," a bummed Calliope replied.
"But if you think about it, in just a couple more years we'll be done with school and then we'll have real jobs that pay real money. Then we are free to do whatever we want and go wherever we want!", Ingrid burst with enthusiasm. .
"Yup! Just 2 more years plus grad school.", said Calliope.
For the past two years, Calliope has been working a part time job after school and a full time job in the summer to help pay for college and give her some spare money. With her hectic job and all her schoolwork, Calliope was one busy bee. Calliope worked very hard with every task she was challenged with because she knew that one day, all of her effort would pay off and she'd finally be able to have a fun filled life where she could actually accomplish the things she's dreamed about.
